Pyrotechnics for children – what is safe for your little ones?
Author: Fajerwerki Lider

When adults set off firecrackers and fireworks on New Year’s Eve, the youngest often want to join the fun too. Boys in particular are drawn to this kind of entertainment. As long as all safety rules are followed, they can absolutely take part. Here’s our guide to the best pyrotechnics for kids!
Sparklers
The safest choice is, of course, the ever-popular sparklers. These are a special type of firework that can even be lit indoors. They usually take the form of a thin metal wire coated with a gray compound containing, among other things, barium nitrate and iron filings. Once lit, they produce a beautiful effect of intense sparkling.
Sparklers are used at New Year’s Eve parties, birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. They can range from 16 up to 90 cm in length, which affects their burn time. Since they don’t explode and don’t have a pronounced flame, they are relatively among the safest pyrotechnic materials. Children using sparklers should still be supervised by parents. The wire should be held at arm’s length, away from flammable objects, other people, and animals.
Our range includes a wide selection of different types. We offer long variants ideal for wedding photos, such as 100 Silver Sparklers 70 cm. For children, slightly shorter models are more suitable and easier to handle, such as Gold Sparklers 28 cm (10 pcs) or Silver Sparklers 16 cm (10 pcs). Fun options also include shapes like Star Sparklers (4 pcs), which little ones especially love.
Poppers (snappers)
Another fun option for little pyrotechnicians is so-called poppers (snappers). These are items that typically don’t make loud noises but delight with visual effects and don’t pose significant danger. For this reason, they can be used even by children—of course, under adult supervision.
Poppers are tiny pouches made of cigarette paper containing a small amount of gravel or coarse sand impregnated with explosive silver fulminate. This compound is sensitive to friction, so it detonates when stepped on, lit, or thrown sharply against a hard surface, producing a brief, characteristic cracking sound. The product is safe, as such an explosion cannot cause injury, even if it goes off in your hand. It’s best to pop them outdoors, but nothing bad will happen if used indoors. These materials originated in China and became widespread around the world as early as the 1950s.
In our offer you’ll find several types of poppers in smaller and larger packs. For a short bit of fun, 50 pcs is more than enough. If you’re running activities with kids or hosting a birthday or other party, you can opt for a large box like 1000 pcs XXL.
Firecrackers for kids
Firecrackers for kids come in all sorts of forms. They usually not only explode but also feature additional visual or sound effects, making them even more exciting and extraordinary than typical items that mainly produce a bang. As always, adults should assist during use.
For instance, Velky Rotacek makes an amazing impression. Once lit, these firecrackers shower golden sparks and spin dynamically, ending with a characteristic crack while throwing even more sparks. Since they work similarly to sparklers, they’re definitely among the safer yet spectacular options.
Kids are especially thrilled by flying items, such as Small Firefly Butterflies. After lighting, the small firecracker shoots sparks and, thanks to tiny wings, rises into the air while spinning. The effect is truly magical, and again, its operation is similar to sparklers.
If you’re looking for something with an additional interesting sound, the Piszczałka Piśtalka is ideal—it emits a characteristic whistle. It gives off heat, smoke, and flame but does not explode, so it doesn’t pose major risk.
A very cool effect also comes from a special type of firecracker for kids: crackling balls. They look and behave like the cartoon-style bombs children love to watch. After lighting, the fuse sparkles, and after a moment the whole thing crackles and showers sparks. A product like Magic Crackling Balls is much safer than classic firecrackers and isn’t too loud.
Pyrotechnics for children are a great way to spice up the fun, add an extra attraction to a family event, or highlight a special occasion. In our store you’ll find products that can not only be watched by the youngest but even used by them. Check out our offer and choose something that will absolutely delight the little ones!
