50 millimeter caliber, F3 class, four separate tubes in one set — it’s the largest mortar you can buy in Europe without a license. The No Limit SS50K from Klasek is for those who know the difference between a 30mm caliber and a 2-inch one, and why that difference matters in the sky.
What you get in the No Limit 50mm set
1. 4 single shots 50mm: Each tube fires one shot, but at this caliber a single projectile spreads into an effect sphere several meters in diameter.
2. 4 different effects: The tubes don’t repeat — you get four distinct combinations of colors and shapes, so you can space them out over time or fire them sequentially.
3. 160g NEC in total: The charge mass is distributed across four tubes, giving about 40g of pyrotechnic material per shot, which is a lot for a single shot available without permits.
4. Fuse ignition: Classic fuse, each tube independent. You decide the order and intervals between shots.
Why the 50mm caliber makes a difference
Most single shots available on the consumer market are 20–30mm caliber. Jumping to 50mm means the effect sphere in the sky is disproportionately larger — not just twice, but several times larger, because volume increases with the cube of the radius. In practice you see a noticeably wider spread of “stars,” deeper colors, and a longer duration of a single bloom. Effects that look like flickering points at 30mm here form full, legible figures even from 200–300 meters away.
Four tubes also give you flexibility you don’t have with batteries. You can fire one at the start of the party, two in the middle, and one for the finale. You can place them at different spots around the garden. You can also connect them with a quick-burning fuse to make a series — but that requires experience with linking.
Safety with the 50mm caliber
F3 class means a minimum safety distance of 25 meters — take this seriously, because with this caliber falling debris has real mass. Place the tube on flat, hard ground; if the soil is soft, bury it to one-third of its depth or secure it with sandbags on the sides. A tipped-over 50mm mortar is a serious problem, so stability is a priority.
